How much does it cost to open a HomeTeam franchise?
The total investment to open a HomeTeam franchise is designed to be both accessible and comprehensive. The franchise fee for a HomeTeam territory, which includes access to our proven systems, initial training, and ongoing support, ranges between $55,000 and $65,000. In addition, our Start-Up Package ($14,800) equips you with everything you need to launch your business in the first year: professional inspection tools, marketing materials, business ownership education, technical training, vehicle wrap, and access to our in-house call center to manage administrative needs from day one, and more!
To ensure smooth operations, we also recommend $15,000–$20,000 in reserves to cover insurance, miscellaneous expenses, and to fuel growth during your first year.

How do you determine territory size?
HomeTeam territories are designed for both opportunity and collaboration. Each protected territory is based on up to 150,000 Owner-Occupied Homes (O.O.H.), ensuring that your business is built on real, active opportunities. Unlike many other franchises, we count only occupied homes, not vacant properties, so any new construction and ancillary inspections are added bonuses to grow your business.
What makes HomeTeam unique is our protected territory model. This means franchisees are never competitors with one another. Instead, our network thrives on collaboration and shared support, creating a stronger foundation for everyone’s success.
It’s also important to note that your territory does not restrict where you perform inspections. It defines which real estate offices belong to you. No other franchisee can market to your assigned offices, but those offices can refer you anywhere they choose. To further strengthen your opportunity, we carefully track the number of established real estate offices within each territory, building territories only from offices with five or more employees to ensure a healthy base for growth.

Can I operate this business out of my home?
Yes! The majority of our franchise owners operate directly from their homes, keeping overhead low and operations simple. The only exceptions are in cases where an E-2 Visa requires a brick-and-mortar office, or when an owner personally chooses to establish one, often after growing to the point of hiring a General Manager and wanting a dedicated business space. Flexibility is built into the model, so you can run your business in the way that works best for you and your family
How do I hire inspectors?
At HomeTeam, building strong teams is at the heart of what we do, and we know that great inspectors are the key to your success. With over 30 years of experience, we’ve refined the hiring process so you don’t have to figure it out alone. From day one, we’ll walk you through every step: identifying what makes an ideal HomeTeam inspector, providing ad templates, showing you where to find the best candidates, and equipping you with proven interview questions. We’ll even guide you in creating incentive programs and retention strategies to keep your team motivated and growing with you.
For many of our owners, this is also an exciting way to get family involved. Adult children, grandchildren, and spouses can play active roles in the business, and many of our locations are proudly run as multi-generational franchises. It’s a powerful way to not only grow a business, but also build a legacy that can be passed down.
